Mission: Citizens of the Trail Creek Watershed will assess water quality issues and develop meaningful implementation strategies targeted to improve the quality of life within the watershed through water quality enhancement and realization of the long term goals with regard to the environmental, recreational, and aesthetic use of our Lake Michigan lakefront and Trail Creek
The Trail Creek Watershed Partnership is raising funds to support Trail Creek Week. Trail Creek Week is a five day, hands-on environmental science program presented each year for Michigan City Area Schools students. Over the course of the five days, students are introduced to water quality, native and invasive fish, water safety and Michigan City natural history. The experience is cemented through a paddle on Trail Creek aboard a 24 foot wooden canoe. The TCWP is committed to providing this experience free of charge to all Michigan City Area Schools students.
The Trail Creek Watershed Partnership is dedicated to improving water quality in Trail Creek, actively working toward watershed level improvements and providing education and guidance. The Trail Creek Watershed Management Plan serves as our guide.
