The Salvation Army of Michigan City

1201 S. Franklin Street
Michigan City, IN 46360

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
We are raising funds to help operate the many services and programs of The Salvation Army of Michigan City. Our food pantry serves more than 1,000 people per month; for six months out of the year, our overnight shelter provides a meal and place of rest for homeless men in our community; this summer we sent 46 children to summer camp at Little Pine Island in Grand Rapids Michigan; we helped pay more than $40,000 in utility bills this year; our diaper bank provides about 5,000 diapers to needy families every month; our youth programs will resume in January; and we just kicked off a uniform exchange program to help students of Michigan City Area Schools get clothing that fits the school dress code.
Our goal is to meet the basic human needs of Michigan City residents who are without food, clothing, shelter and other necessities of life.
